At YWCA Canberra, we care deeply about empowering women and giving a voice to the passionate thinkers, dreamers and innovators of our community. We believe girls and women of all backgrounds have the potential to make the world a better place, so much so we’re willing to back them through our Great Ydeas small grants program!
YWCA Canberra’s Great Ydeas Small Grants Program provides grants of up to $2500 to support women, girls and non-binary people in the ACT to pursue their passions and improve our community.
Since launching in 2010, our Great Ydeas grants have helped more than 60 local women and girls progress projects including: establishing a podcast, launching a public awareness campaign, running empowering programs for girls, attending a conference and launching a social enterprise.
We are proud to have supported incredible women such as Ritu Clementi do on develop their projects and helping other young women in our community. Since receiving the grant in 2016, Ritu has launched The Girls Leadership Network; a leadership program that hosts workshops, seminars and development opportunities for college-aged girls. Watch below to hear more about Ritu’s Great Ydeas experience and what she has been up to since receiving the grant.
