Join us in celebrating International Women’s Day (Tuesday 8 March) and contribute to ending violence against women.
This International Women’s Day, YWCA Canberra is collaborating with This is Not a ‘Wife Beater’ on a special campaign to raise awareness of violence against women and to fundraise for our respectful relationships programs, by collaborating with over 50 Canberra cafes to deliver key messages about respectful relationships, positive bystander action and ending violence against women via takeaway cups.
Research shows that primary prevention programs are key to ending violence against women in the long-term, which is why YWCA Canberra has a suite of respectful relationships resources and programs tailored to meet the needs of young people.
Research also tells us that how we talk about violence against women affects how women are treated in our community. This campaign contributes to ending this violence and making our community safer for everyone by highlighting ways we can all promote respectful relationships and condemn violence against women.
