About the Role:

This is a brand new service in its second year of operation.  Located in Murrumbateman between the ACT northern suburbs and Yass, YWCA Fairley is an education service that was designed by an educator with fantastic indoor and outdoor areas.

The service offers an enriching Educational Program that has a strong focus on community engagement, and a commitment to making a difference. The expansive, open-planned learning environments lend themselves to hours of endless exploration. The dedicated team of professional educators share their love of learning with the children through innovative program design.

We pride ourselves in providing a service for children and families that is driven by building meaningful relationships and fostering an innovative and reflective practice. Fairley Early Childhood Service was rated as ‘Meeting’ the National Quality Standards in 2018.

As the Service Director, you will provide leadership and management to a dedicated and diverse team. You will be responsible for the autonomous day-to-day operations of the service, with the support of the Early Childhood Services Manager, as well as Human Resources, Payroll, Childcare Accounts and Finance teams.

About You:

As well as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (minimum), a First Aid Qualification, WWCC registration and a Police Check, you will also:

  • Have a strong working knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Have experience in the day to day running of a service
  • Have the ability to lead and inspire your team.
  • Be committed to providing high quality education and care to children
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, and a warm and friendly nature
  • Experience in maintaining a safe workplace, and working within a compliance framework
  • Effective communication skills, including both verbal and written communication
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
