About the Role:

The YWCA Early Childhood Services Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of YWCA Canberra’s five Early Childhood Education and Care services across the ACT and regional NSW. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the implementation of the portfolios strategic goals, Quality Improvement strategies, compliance framework, and financial performance.

In this fixed term contract (30 hrs PW – 12 months) you will be provided with a unique and supportive management structure that will foster and build your leadership and management skills. As one of two Early Childhood Services Managers your day to day will involve working directly with centre managers to lead and develop all aspects of service delivery, as well as working senior YWCA Management to ensure business development and growth.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading services in the provision of an ‘Exceeding’ level of service delivery under the National Quality Standard.
  • Ensuring the implementation of a compliance framework in line with the Education and Care services National Laws and Regulations.
  • Driving financial performance and budget management
  • Development and implementation of strategic goals in line with YWCA Canberra strategic directions
  • Business analysis and development
  • Management and oversite of service operations

About You:

In addition to a minimum of the Diploma in Early Childhood and Care the successful candidate will possess:

  • A high level of professional and sector knowledge
  • An ability to lead and manage people from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully manage an early childhood education and care service budget
  • Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People card and NSW Working with children check
  • At least 3 years experience as an Early Childhood Centre director

Successful applicants will be required to participate fully in all child protection risk management recruitment processes and ongoing character checking and assessment processes.
