Currawong Child Care Centre is located on the grounds of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Barton. Families who work with the department have priority of access to the Centre. However, we also provide care for external families.
The Centre has a strong connection with the DFAT community, often sharing in significant events. We have an open-door policy that allows and encourages parents to come into the Centre throughout the day to participate in the program, meal times as well as incursions and excursions.
Our convenient location within the Parliamentary triangle gives us quick access to interesting landmarks as we engage in regular community walks as a part of our educational program.
The educational set up of the service provides opportunities for children to engage in structured mixed aged play experiences through their large community art space and the open plan playground.
Our dynamic team of qualified educators work collaboratively with our families to provide a service that meets the needs of their children. Play-based learning is valued and creates the foundation of our educational program, which aims to promote children’s natural curiosity.
