Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)

Please note: The July intake is now full. We will be updating our website regarding additional workshops again shortly.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) aims to provide students with the range of competencies needed to deliver training and facilitate learning in an industry or area of subject matter expertise, and conduct competency based assessment in a range of contexts. The Certificate is offered as a full or customised course or as an update for those who already have either BSZ40198 or TAA40104.

The learning modes available include:

  • Workshop delivery mode: Training sessions that require you to attend on a regular basis to complete the theory and practical components of the qualification.
  • Customised workshop delivery mode: Training sessions that can be catered to suit specific training requirements. NB: These workshops can be conducted either in-house or at your location.
  • Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • Self-paced/distance mode: This mode of delivery is particularly suited to training facilitators and practitioners who have a high level of experience but need to gain additional knowledge and skills to practice within the VET environment. You learn at home at your own pace while utilising support, guidance and assistance from the YWCA Canberra  Training Unit.

To assist with individuals professional development requirements, mentoring and coaching is available over the phone, via e-mail, or in individual face-to-face sessions either at YWCA Canberra or in the workplace

Testimonials:

“I completed my Cert IV in Training and Assessment with Jess at YWCA Canberra in 2014. Jess created a very open and welcoming environment in which I felt valued and respected to both share my experiences in Training as well as learn a lot more. Jess was always friendly and flexible facilitating and assessing our learning. I highly recommend Jess as a Trainer and Facilitator”

Alisha Tarrant  – Lifeline Canberra

“I recently did the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and was lucky enough to have Jessica Garnett as my tutor. I was asked to do this course by my employer to enable me to teach accredited drama classes, however I had no idea what to expect from the course and didn’t know too much about it before starting. I met Jess before the first training day as I was getting RPL and needed to go through all my previous experiences with her. From the minute I met Jess I knew she was an excellent teacher and loved her job. She was so understanding, helpful and kind. The first lesson was fantastic, she made the lesson energetic and exciting and her teaching was clear and concise. I looked forward to the classes each week and found I was able to complete the course in four weeks thanks to her great classes. I would highly recommend anyone to do this course through YWCA Canberra.

Jess Baker – Canberra Youth Theatre

“This has been a great experience for me and really opened me up to a new way of looking at and approaching training, study and work. I feel very lucky and privileged to have had you guiding me through the process. Kindest regards and respect.”

Robert Prado – Department of Social Services

“I have been extremely impressed with your professionalism and dedication in continuing to support our people throughout this program even with “extended extensions” that went past the date on our Letter of Engagement.  I have no hesitation in contacting you (YWCA Canberra) or recommending you, for future training opportunities. Thank you once again!”

Gary Matlok – Department of Family and Community Services
