LGBTQIA+ & Allies Prom 2022

YWCA Canberra is hosting our sixth annual prom for LGBTQIA+ young people across Canberra and their allies.

Prom is one of our most popular events, and for good reason! This year, the theme is ‘Under the sea’, and we have lots planned to make it a night to remember.

Come along for a fun and safe night where you can express your identity and be your authentic self in a judgement-free, inclusive environment. There will be a delicious buffet-style dinner, a drag performance by Phish and Phreak-Canberra’s premiere drag collective, and loads more.

Tickets to attend the LGBTQIA+ & Allies Prom are now SOLD OUT!

If you have any questions, contact our Youth Engagement team at

You can still help…To ensure this event is completely free and accessible for young people, we are asking the community to help us by sponsoring a ticket!

The LGBTQIA+ & Allies Prom is an opportunity for young people age 12 to 25 to experience a formal-style event and express their identity in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.

After the year that has been, our young people need this more than ever! For many, this will be their first time to connect and enjoy in over six months.

Last year, through the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to ensure that all young people were able to attend the prom free of charge. We want to do this again!

You can sponsor a young person to attend Prom by selecting ‘sponsorship’ in the right hand menu on this page, and making a donation.
