Make a donation

Want to help us continue to make a difference to the lives of Canberran women, men and children?

YWCA Canberra values the financial support we receive through donations. As a not-for-profit organisation we use our funding carefully to meet the needs of those we aim to help. Your donation will assist us in our work to provide important programs and services to the Canberra community.

Our donors gain immense satisfaction knowing their gifts help shape future programs and opportunities YWCA Canberra offer in our community.

Your can help make a big difference, enabling us to:
• provide housing for women and their families facing homelessness
• help young people at risk of disengaging from school to connect with employment and training opportunities
• build social inclusion by connecting communities
• provide training and leadership opportunities for young women

“If just 10% of working Australians donated $5 per week through their pay, an additional $260 million would be generated each year for the community.”*

Workplace Giving, or Payroll Giving, is a simple and effective way to regularly donate to a charity and make a direct difference in the local community.

Workplace Giving allows employees to donate a small amount each pay period through their salary and receive an immediate, automatic tax deduction. The pre-tax donation eliminates the need to retain receipts and claim them in their annual tax return. It is easy, convenient and efficient.

Generally, the donation amount will be a fixed amount that will be deducted from your salary or wages on each pay day. Your employer then pays the donation directly to the charity. Workplace Giving does not affect the way your gross income, super guarantee payments or fringe benefits are worked out.

For more information about how Workplace Giving will help your local community please contact YWCA Canberra on 02 6175 9900, or email canberra@ywca-canberra.org.au.
