At YWCA Canberra, we are fortunate to have built strong partnerships with organisations that support gender equality and women’s leadership. Hays are a Champion of the 2018 She Leads Conference. We had a chat to Nicole Frawley, Government Account Manager at Hays, to find out just what Hays do and why our partnership is so special.

What does Hays do?

Hays is experienced and skilled in providing recruitment services to the private, public and NFP sectors. We place people in permanent, temporary and contract roles in the 33 locations across Australia.

Tell us about yourself and your role at Hays.

After enjoying seven years in a direct recruitment role, I recently stepped into the role of Government Account Manager for the Canberra business. This role sits across the ACT office with the aim to promote best practice consulting to our Government Accounts whilst ensuring that our recruitment processes are tailored to meet the individual needs of the public sector agency we are supporting.

Achieving gender equality in society means something different to everybody; what does it mean to Hays?

Hays practises gender diversity at all levels of our organisation, this has meant equal opportunity for development and promotion at all ranks. Diversity of thought keeps us innovative and connected and is intrinsic to our success.

Why has Hays partnered with the She Leads Conference?

Hays is a living demonstration of how successful a company can be with women in senior positions, we are always happy to partner with causes that align and promote this agenda

The theme of the Conference is Rise: We grow powerful by lifting each other. Why is it important for women to provide support to each other at all levels of the workforce and across all areas of life?

Visibility – having women in my organisation who have forged a path that I can follow has been very beneficial to me and I am proud to be this support for the women starting out in my industry

What part of the Conference are you most looking forward to?

Meeting like-minded women who are engaged in the cause to promote leadership diversity in our workplaces
