About the Role:

Are you passionate about developing healthy eating habits in children?

Due to staff movement and the continuing growth of our services, we are seeking a skilled and energetic and creative chef /cook to prepare meals for the children attending the Condor Early Childhood Education Centre (ECEC).  This role would suit an experienced chef/ cook with a knowledge of nutrition for children and a good awareness of how to accommodate a range of dietary and allergy-based requirements in their practice.  This role is also responsible for stock ordering and all on site meal and food preparation and requires the cook/chef to have food safety qualifications (or the ability to obtain).

About You:

Working autonomously, you will be wholly responsible for creating a hygienic and safe cooking environment and nutritious meals for children, including shopping / stock ordering, and food preparation. You will be working with a close-knit team of professional early childhood educators and would be of great benefit if you had an interest in developing cooking programs with children and the community.  As an important part of the services team, you will need good communication skills enabling conversations with children, parents and educators.


  • Certificate 4 in commercial Cookery or relevant experience
  • Food safety supervisors Certificate or ability to obtain same
  • Working with vulnerable Peoples Check
