YWCA Canberra School Age Care is looking for an innovative Program Manager to manage and lead a team of educators in one of our School Age Care Programs.

The school is located on­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ the Northside, and members of the school have a strong relationship with the well-established program, who provide consistent support those who work in the service.

Our Program Managers are supported within their role by a Quality Support Unit, Roster Clerk, and a Child Care Accounts team, to provide high quality education and care and practices to children who attend the service.

There are consistent and extensive opportunities both internal and external for professional development, training, and networking, to support Program Managers skill set and knowledge.

The role will be working with a team and a vibrant group of children, ensuring best practices, and delivering an educational program that will nurture the children’s development and learning.

Suitable applicants for this role will need to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework and My Time Our Place Framework, and National Laws and Regulations.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills will also be necessary.

About You:

You will be a facilitator of continuous improvement, with knowledge of current best practice with the sector.  You will be an engaged and enthusiastic leader. It is essential that you have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in School Age Care programs.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of School Age Care current practices and regulations and experience working within the Children’s Services Sector.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading a team of educators.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders with demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current Australian Police Check
  • Current First Aid/Asthma Anaphylaxis training
