About the Role:

We are looking for Room Leaders who would love the flexibility of working in school age care at our School Age Care Service across ACT and will require experience in providing support to children, some of whom may have additional needs.

As the Room Leader, you will work alongside the Program Manager and other Room Leaders in leading and supporting the educators in the Centre to provide high-quality School Age Care education and care. You will work closely with our team of educators to assist them in implementing programs and curriculums that reflects best practice.

You will build and maintain positive relationships with children and families, and the local community. Most importantly, you will make a difference to the lives of children in our care.

About You:

You will build and maintain positive relationships with children and families, and the local community. Most importantly, you will make a difference to the lives of children in our care.

You will be a facilitator of continuous improvement, with knowledge of current best practice as well as early childhood theories.

It is essential that you hold:

  • A Diploma in Children’s Services or more than 50% completed with an updated transcript
  • Experience working with children who require additional support or have additional needs
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the National Quality Framework (My Time Our Place and Being Belonging Becoming) and National Quality Standards
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, and a warm and friendly nature
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders with demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A Working with Vulnerable People card; and
  • Current first aid/asthma anaphylaxis training
