Our community services team had the delight of collaborating on a project with Majura Men’s Shed, Dementia ACT, Bunnings and Givit Australia to donate chalkboards to help families.
We have worked with Bunnings for a number of events, and we were happy to get involved again on such a wonderful project. Lynda, our Family Case Manager, contacted the Bunnings community outreach team to help us source some blackboards for the children living in our properties. Bunnings were more than happy to help.
Last week at Bunnings, we were presented with the completed blackboards. They were created by Men’s Shed, Bunnings staff and Dementia Australia participants assembled and painted them, along with some gorgeous boxes filled with chalk.
Two staff members from YWCA Canberra Housing team, Tamsin and Victorya, were on hand to collect these special handmade gifts. After the presentation, they sat down and enjoyed coffee and cake with the Dementia Australia participants.
A heartfelt thank you Majura Men’s Shed, Dementia ACT, Bunnings and Givit Australia. We know our families will love them!
