29 September 2015
On Thursday 24 September, all hands were on deck at the Lanyon Youth and Community Café as Nutrilicious students prepared for their end of program celebration.
17 young participants of the 2015 Nutrilicious program put up their hand to take part in this special extra session. Under the guidance of a French chef from CIT Solutions, they worked together to prepare food to cater for the celebration.
The celebration took place at Charles Conder Primary School and was attended by all 74 Nutrilicious participants, teachers and invited guests.
Nutrilicious is a year-long program which began in October 2014 and has been running continuously in each term since. The program teaches participants about healthy eating and provides them with new skills in healthy food preparation and gardening.
All participants received a cookbook specially designed for the program and 97% tried new foods as a result of the program.
This health initiative was funded under the ACT Government’s Health Promotion Grants Program, and was implemented in partnership with Charles Conder Primary School, Nutrition Australia and CIT Solutions.
