Exploring new ways of learning with She Leads Diploma

20 July 2020

At YWCA Canberra, we are passionate about supporting and inspiring women through quality education and training.

For the last few months, we have been trialling new methods of remote learning to help deliver our She Leads Diploma course while continuing to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. During this period, students were able to access their learning through online interfaces such as Basecamp and Microsoft Teams

Through these programs, our educators were able to continue delivering quality classes and assignments without compromising our students learning experiences or access to content.

As restrictions began to ease, we asked a few of our students to provide feedback on their experiences moving from face-to-face learning to remote learning. Here’s what they had to say.

“It was a bit difficult the first session, just to get used to the new ‘way’, but then I found it more convenient and flexible” shared one student.

“I like to study at home, but sometimes facetoface learning makes it easier to understand the content,” shared another student.

Offering remote learning classes during COVID19 allowed our students to continue to learn and grow despite times of uncertainty and change. As we continue to go down this path, it’s important we encourage women to feel inspired to achieve their leadership goals and be prepared to take on a world with a newfound confidence and resilience.

Our She Leads Diploma of Leadership and Management provides women and non-binary people with the opportunity to gain the best-practice skills, theoretical knowledge, and networks to accelerate their leadership journey.

The course is specifically designed for women who are interested in formalising and consolidating their leadership and management skills and knowledge.

This year we have secured a number of full scholarships for the She Leads Diploma, which ensures equal access to this leadership course. With the generosity of philanthropic and Government grants, eligible candidates will be able to apply for the She Leads Scholarship Program and She Leads Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholarship
