Gordon Neighborhood Watch donates to MYLCC

21 August 2019

Last week, Area Coordinator of Gordon Neighbourhood Watch, Mark Lynch, attended Mura Lanyon Youth and Community Centre (MLYCC) to gift us with a donation of $1000.

This generous contribution will enable the MLYCC to work with Canberra Institute of Technology Community Development students to develop and deliver a transition to high school program over the coming months. Incorporating the young people’s interest in scooters, skateboards, repairs and maintenance, this program will help them develop positive relationships with mentors and the high school. The donation from Gordon Neighbourhood Watch will enable YWCA Canberra to provide the participants with their own scooter repair and maintenance kits.

The Gordon Neighbourhood Watch, part of ACT Neighbourhood Watch, is a community-based crime prevention program that works with ACT Policing. They are part of the wider ACT Neighbourhood Watch that aims to promote closer community ties and encourages reporting of any suspicious behaviour to help minimise crime. If you are interested in being part of your local Neighbourhood Watch, visit the ACT website to find out more.

A big thanks to Gordon Neighbourhood Watch, we really appreciate your support!
