Spreading hope in the hub

At YWCA Canberra, community lies at the forefront of our values and wider vision of girls and women thriving. Within the last few months, we have received several donations from people across the community, who have continued to show support towards our organisation and more importantly, those in need.
On Friday 5 June, our team at the Mura Lanyon Youth and Community Centre received a generous donation from Isabella Plain couple, Christine and David. On this day, the pair bought in several bags of groceries to donate towards our food hub to share among people in need of crisis relief. Christine shared that she had saved enough points on her FlyBuys rewards card to help go towards purchasing these items.
Since retiring, Christine and David have become active members in the community, investing both their time and energy towards giving back to those in need. Recently they proposed to host a food drive in partnership with our community services which we are now working to make a reality. Thank you, Christine and David!
