We’re excited to launch YWCA Canberra’s latest innovative program to train 100 people over the next two years to work in Canberra’s childhood education and care sector: Educate, Inspire, Excel (EIE).
EIE gives Canberrans the opportunity to study and work in childhood education and care in a supportive, inclusive environment.
The COVID-19 crisis has clearly demonstrated what we already knew: that early childhood education and care industry is vital to our community and our economy. EIE will give people the opportunity to begin their careers in this exciting sector while providing them with the support they need to succeed.
Over two years, YWCA Canberra will support participants to secure a job in children’s services and complete their choice of a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care.
We will give participants work readiness and on-the-job training, and provide any social, health, housing or wellbeing support they might need through our community services. Upon graduation, participants will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to take their career to the next level.
Priority for the program is given to young people and mature aged women, including woman-identifying people, and non-binary people.
Students can enrol at any time with training beginning from September 2020.
More information is available on our website.
EIE is funded by the ACT Government through the Future Skills for Future Jobs program.
YWCA Canberra is registered training organisation (RTO 1373).
