YWCA Canberra is proud to announce that we have once again been awarded the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) Citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), securing recognition for the 2026–2028 period. WGEA CEO Mary Wooldridge congratulated YWCA Canberra for their work to be recognised through the WGEA Workplace Gender Equality citation.
“Holding the Workplace Gender Equality Citation provides national recognition that YWCA Canberra is deeply committed to positive action to achieve gender equality in their workplace,” Ms Wooldridge said.
“Citation holders demonstrate strong gender-equal outcomes at the moments that matter most to women and men at work. They go beyond policy and programs, embedding gender equality into the everyday employee experience.”
This achievement reaffirms YWCA Canberra’s long‑standing commitment to advancing gender equality and creating a workplace where all people can thrive. We use the WGEA citation as a benchmark to continuously improve our policies, practices and culture, ensuring gender equality remains embedded across our organisation. Ms Wooldridge said.
“We’ve held this citation since 2014. This reflects more than a decade of sustained action and accountability, and we encourage more organisations in Canberra to join us in building their own future decades of progress,” said Frances Crimmins, CEO of YWCA Canberra.
“As we enter our 13th year of recognition, we remain deeply committed to setting the standard for gender‑equal workplaces, including meeting our Positive Duty through trauma‑informed, preventative approaches that keep people safe and respected at work.”
