As a central component of YWCA Canberra’s advocacy work, the recurring Our Lives: Women in the ACT survey has engaged an increasing number of women and non-binary people aged 16 and over, growing from more than 1,000 responses in 2019 to over 1,200 in 2021, and again in 2023, with a record 2,793 responses in 2025. These consistently high and rising participation rates have positioned the survey as a cornerstone for evidence-based advocacy, highlighting the lived experiences, challenges, and priorities of women and
non-binary individuals throughout the ACT and surrounding regions.
