YWCA Canberra and its partners are proud to offer funding for women, girls and non-binary people in the Canberra region to pursue their passions and improve our community through the Great Ydeas Small Grants Program.
YWCA Canberra Chief Executive Officer Frances Crimmins said she is thrilled that corporate partners have again answered the call to support local women, with additional targeted grants this year in addition to the $10,000 available through YWCA Canberra’s own funding.
“We are proud to have Beyond Bank, EY, Sustineo, and The Joyful Business Business Club joining us again in 2023 to demonstrate the social impact we can have when corporate and community organisations connect,” said Ms Crimmins.
Individual grants of up to $2,500 are available from a total pool of $18,500. Applications close on Sunday 2 April 2023.
“Our Great Ydeas program has helped over 90 local women and girls to progress projects including programs to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, women in STEM, a podcast and a music festival.
We’ve heard from the grant recipients such as from Sarah O’Malley and CBR Grrrls to the Front. Sarah and her team used their grant to help pay for the artists, and to offer concession tickets for those who needed financial assistance, and they were able to donate funds, and period products to Share the Dignity Australia”, said Ms Crimmins.
Recipients of the 2023 YWCA Canberra Great Ydeas Small Grants will be announced at the annual YWCA Canberra Round the World Breakfast on 4th May at the Ainslie Football Club. The event also celebrates World YWCA Day and raises funds for YWCA Canberra’s YHomes project in Ainslie.
Grant eligibility details and application forms are available online.
