About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Communications Officer to support the implementation and maintenance of the organisation’s communication, marketing, events and fundraising initiatives.

Situated in the Communication, Advocacy and Engagement team and reporting to the Director Communications, Events & Engagement, you will be a part of a friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled team. You’ll have the opportunity to work for a highly regarded, feminist organisation, contributing to gender equality in Canberra and surrounding regions.

About You:

The successful candidate will possess the following professional skills and knowledge:

  • Experience working in communications, journalism, public relations or similar.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal skills, attention to detail (writing, proofreading and editing) and the ability to produce creative content which aligns with strategic objectives, program and portfolio communication needs.
  • Experience in developing narrative content using an organisational voice.
  • High-level relationship management skills and ability to work respectfully in a team environment.
  • Experience in writing for and manage a range of content platforms and publications including newsletters, social media, intranet, annual reports.
  • Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to prioritise, multi-task, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience with WordPress, Campaign Monitor and Canva (mandatory).

Desirable:  Experience working on gender and/or social equality issues highly desirable but not essential
