YWCA Canberra is pleased to announce the appointment of Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC as our new Patron. Her Excellency, a renowned advocate for gender equality and social justice, brings a wealth of experience and passion to our organisation. We are elated to have her join us in our mission to empower and support the Canberra community.
Her Excellency was sworn in as Australia’s 28ᵗʰ Governor General on July 1, 2024. With a long career in law and business, Her Excellency was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2021 for “distinguished service to business, community, and women” and a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2024 for ”eminent service in the social justice, gender equity, sporting, cultural and business sectors, to reconciliation, and to environmental sustainability”.
