YWCA Canberra’s Fairley Early Childhood Service is seeking a flexible, skilled, and energetic Casual Cook to support our kitchen operations. Located in the heart of Murrumbateman, Fairley is a vibrant, family‑focused centre surrounded by a picturesque rural community.
About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting the daily kitchen operations, including:
- Preparing nutritious, child‑friendly meals
- Managing dietary and allergy requirements
- Maintaining a hygienic and safe kitchen
- Stock ordering, shopping, and food preparation
You Will Need
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or relevant experience
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check (NSW)
- Experience planning menus that meet nutritional guidelines for children
- Confidence in accommodating allergy‑related and dietary requirements
- Experience maintaining a safe, hygienic kitchen and working within compliance frameworks
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- A positive, flexible attitude and strong interpersonal skills
