2024 Annual General Meeting

The 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the members of YWCA Canberra will be held as follows: 

Venue:

This year, we will be conducting a hybrid AGM, with members able to join either virtually or in-person. At the point of registration, please select how you would like to attend. A Zoom link will be sent to all current YWCA Canberra members upon completion of registration.

Please note that you will be able to switch to virtual attendance at any point leading up to the AGM. 

Registration closes at 11:59PM AEDT, Saturday 2 November 2024. 

Due to the nature of hybrid virtual meetings, we invite written questions from members in advance of the AGM. The Chair will seek to address as many of the questions as possible during the AGM. Members who would like to submit questions in advance of the AGM can do so by emailing governance@ywca-canberra.org.au by COB (5:00PM) Monday 4 November 2024.  

For those attending virtually, please connect to the Zoom meeting 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time, to ensure that any connection issues can be resolved in advance, as well as any video and microphone/audio issues. This is to ensure that the meeting can start at the scheduled time. 

Proxy forms 

If you would like another member to attend the AGM for you, please download a proxy form and return to governance@ywca-canberra.org.au before 11:59PM AEDT, Saturday 2 November 2024.  

Please CC in your nominated proxy on the email. 

Ensure you have signed your proxy form. Only physical and digitised signatures are accepted on proxy forms. Typed names will not be accepted. 

Due to equal number of nominations received for vacant positions, as per the YWCA Canberra Constitution, no election is required.

Resolutions

YWCA Canberra is formally notifying members of the proposal for the removal and appointment of new auditors. In accordance with good governance principles, we propose a resolution to remove Bellchambers Barrett as the current auditor and appoint a new auditor. We extend our sincere gratitude to Bellchambers Barrett for their six years of professional audit services.

Resolution 1 – Ordinary Resolution

YWCA Canberra remove Bellchambers Barrett as the current auditor of the company, with effect from the end of the meeting at which this resolution is passed.

Resolution 2 – Special Resolution

Subject to the passing of Resolution 1, YWCA Canberra appoint RSM Australia as the auditor of the company, with effect from the end of the meeting at which this resolution is passed.

Resolution 3 – Ordinary Resolution

Subject to the passing of Resolution 2, RSM Australia’s remuneration for the 2024/2025 financial year be fixed at $45,000 excluding GST.

Resolution 4 – Ordinary Resolution

That the Company and its Directors do all things necessary to give effect to the above resolutions.
