We’re seeking enthusiastic and committed Diploma Qualified Educators (Early Childhood Education and Care) to deliver engaging before and after school care that is fun, inclusive and developmentally appropriate.

About the Role

As a School Age Care Educator, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs that support children’s learning, wellbeing and interests
  • Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels valued
  • Support children’s social, emotional and physical development through play-based experiences
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive and values-driven team
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

About You

You are someone who:

  • Is passionate about working with school-aged children
  • Brings warmth, empathy and professionalism to every interaction
  • Is reliable, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Has experience in the children’s or school age care sector
  • Holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Communicates confidently with children, families and colleagues

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
  • A current National Police Check
  • Demonstrated experience or skills in children’s services or school age care
  • A strong commitment to child safety, wellbeing and inclusion
  • The ability to support children with additional or complex needs

WWVP Requirement

All YWCA Canberra employees must hold and maintain a valid Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration throughout their employment. We adhere to a strict ‘No card, no start’ policy — this clearance must be obtained prior to commencement.
